Mosaic

For centuries, mosaics have been among the most impressive forms of artistic interior design. Today they are found in private interiors as well as in public buildings, churches and overall architectural concepts.

The Glasmalerei Dr. H. Oidtmann works with natural stone such as marble and granite as well as with high-quality smalti from Murano and Venice. The variety of colours, textures and materials opens up almost unlimited creative possibilities.

Alongside classic stone and glass mosaics, individual works are also created using additional materials such as wood, metal or other architectural elements. The combination of different surfaces and materials in particular creates striking spatial and light-related effects.

We also restore historic mosaics with great care and conservation expertise. Notable projects include the restoration of the mosaics in the octagon of Aachen Cathedral.
