About us

Germany’s oldest stained glass studio

In Linnich since 1857. Six generations of craft, art and research.

Germany’s oldest stained glass studio

Glasmalerei Dr. H. Oidtmann is Germany’s oldest stained glass studio. For generations, our family business has created glasswork where art, craft and architecture meet: from the restoration of historic church windows to contemporary glass design.

For over 165 years, tradition and progress have been central to who we are. With craftsmanship, technical expertise and creative openness, we develop solutions for sacred, public and private spaces.

Today the company is run by the fifth and sixth generations, Heinrich, Dr Stefan and Michael Oidtmann. Artists, architects, conservation specialists and clients in Germany and abroad rely on the experience and quality of our workshops.

Works from our studio can be found in many countries around the world, including the Vatican Museums and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

The combination of traditional stained glass with contemporary techniques and materials continues to shape our work today. Together with our team, we develop glass design ever further, with respect for the historic fabric and openness to new architectural demands.
