Passing on the craft, for six generations.
Training young people has been central to Glasmalerei Dr. H. Oidtmann for many generations. We pass on not only the fundamentals of the craft, but also the responsible handling of historic materials, artistic techniques and restoration tasks.
Our studio offers apprenticeships in the following trades:
Training in our company is deliberately wide-ranging. Alongside the classic course content, our apprentices also get to know adjacent craft and technical fields, including scaffolding, ironwork, traditional processing techniques and restoration methods.
Through the combination of workshop work, on-site experience and conservation, apprentices gain a comprehensive insight into the varied demands of historic and contemporary glass design.
Our trainers have many years of practical experience and support apprentices with expertise and personal commitment throughout the entire training period. In this way we create an environment in which knowledge, craftsmanship and design understanding are passed on to last.
We also offer excellent prospects for the future: a permanent position after successfully completing the apprenticeship is almost guaranteed for those who perform well. We also offer retraining and qualifications for people looking to change career direction.
At the heart of this is the passing on of experience, craftsmanship and design understanding, so that traditional techniques and specialist expertise are preserved for the future.
We look forward to hearing from you. Simply fill in the form below and we will get back to you shortly.
